International day of Tolerance 2025
Svitac (Firefly in Bosnia) marked the International Day for Tolerance with several groups, reminding everyone how important it is to be aware when it comes to differences.
With the 10+ age group, we talked about various words with positive meanings, such as love, smile, acceptance, friendship, etc. Together, we created a poster featuring a flower made of these words with a simple message – Nurture the flower!
With the groups of young people, we talked about being open to new things, traveling, and getting to know new cultures. We were supported by our volunteers from Germany and Finland. Annalena talked about the project she is participating in—12 months in Brčko with Svitac, where she supports various informal educational programs for children and youth, and together with the Svitac team promotes peace and equality.
Elisa introduced us to Finland, and with her, we compared similarities and differences in culture, food, and customs.
Events like these help us better understand diversity and view the world with openness.
