ESC (European Solidarity Corps) trainings for mentors
ESC training provides young mentors with the opportunity to develop communication and leadership skills, gain international experience, and learn to better support and motivate young people. Through workshops, teamwork, and the exchange of experiences, participants build self-confidence, creativity, and problem-solving abilities. For young people in general, ESC programs create new friendships, encourage intercultural learning, and offer valuable skills that support both personal and professional growth.
Svitac (Firefly in Bosnia) was happy to support its local volunteers, Eldar and Milica, in attending the ESC training course for mentors in Sarajevo. They were grateful for the opportunity and truly enjoyed this inspiring experience. Through activities such as walk & talk sessions, group exercises, and 10-minute stories, they discovered the importance of empathy, active listening, and understanding the “iceberg” of emotions and needs in the mentoring process. Back in Brčko, Eldar and Milica shared their new knowledge with other volunteers and mentors by holding a workshop on the same topic, passing on key insights from the ESC training, and continuing their growth as mentors.
