International Day of Tolerance 2023

Svitac (Firefly in Bosnia) celebrated the International Day of Tolerance with an interactive workshop for participants up to seven years old and 15+. The participants talked about the word ‘tolerance’ and what it means to them; there was also an animated video about tolerance and friendship.

The team of local and international volunteers, together with the group, created a poster with a big heart and little colourful hands. The children also got a present to take home – a heart and flower with the message “Be tolerant! Be kind!”.

Jonathan and Simon made a presentation and discussed with the 15 + group this important topic and the ways to improve dignity, peace, and equality.

Our goal with this activity was to promote creative cultural diversity, values of tolerance, and mutual respect. Svitac (Firefly in Bosnia) advocates the importance of peaceful coexistence and the acceptance and respect of others. The workshop was held at the premises of the Youth centre in Brčko District.
