Happy International Day of Peace!
Every year the International Day of Peace is observed around the world on 21st September. The UN General Assembly has declared this a day devoted to strengthening the ideals of peace.
Svitac (Firefly in Bosnia) has marked the International Day of Peace with participants aged 4-6 years and 17 +.
We asked the youngest to describe the term “peace” in their own words! Following that, we created a symbolic bird out of hand prints.
Our international volunteer Jonathan gave a presentation about peace to a group of 17+; a lively conversation resulted, and participants created a poster outlining their personal definitions of peace.
Our team has delivered a message that we can coexist and learn how to avoid or resolve disagreements.
