Zero Discrimination Day 2022

We celebrate on Zero Discrimination Day, 1st March the right of everyone to live a full life—and live it with dignity. Zero Discrimination Day also underlines how people can become informed about and promote inclusion, compassion, peace and, above all, a movement for change.

Svitac (Firefly in Bosnia) celebrated this day with the youngest participants in the storytelling workshop. It was about the seahorse Edward who was feeling alone, the other fishes did not want to play with him because he is not a fish. But the story had a happy end and they realized that it does not matter who we are, what counts is the care and love we share with each other.

The participants also draw a dove as a symbol of peace and made butterflies as symbols of Zero Discrimination Day. We talked to them about equality amongst people and being nice to everybody. These virtues are important to be learned at a young age.

The workshop was held at the premises of the Youth centre of Brčko District.
