Zero Discrimination Day 2021

Zero Discrimination Day is celebrated to promote everyone’s right, regardless of age, gender, sexuality, nationality, ethnicity, skin colour, etc. Zero Discrimination Day aims to raise the voice for the right to live life with dignity, despite one’s choices, beliefs, profession, education or disability.

Svitac (Firefly Bosnia) held a workshop on this topic. With a methodically adapted method for working with our participants 4 to 6 years old, we held a workshop on the topic of equality among people. At the beginning of the workshop, we discussed equal rights for all, regardless of their skin colour, background or different customs. On the example of a paper toy, we showed that all participants can make this object at the same time, regardless of if someone has bigger or smaller hands, or if it is a boy or a girl.

In the end, we enjoyed the creative part with different forms of pasta (noodles). We made a combination of 4 types of pasta and in mosaic style have created a picture of fish and butterflies. In this way, we wanted to point out that although we are all different, we all form one unity together.

The workshop was held in the Youth centre of Brcko District.
