Zero Discrimination Day 2019
On the 1st of March, the UN proclaimed the „Day of Zero Discrimination“ to spread awareness about the omnipresent discrimination in our societies and bring people to action to fight it.
Svitac (Firefly Bosnia) held workshops concerning this topic. The first group of eleven participants of the age of 4-7 discussed the differences among people, made them conclude to tolerate differences and watched cartoons addressing these questions.
The second group of five participants of the age of eleven to thirteen had a discussion concerning what discrimination actually is and embodies, whether it is present in their local community and ways to counter it. After that they made an Arts & Crafts project called the „Universal Human“.
All the activities took place in the facilities of the local youth centre.
