World Day of Social Justice 2025
In 2007, the UN General Assembly declared February 20th as World Day of Social Justice, urging Member States to promote activities that align with the goals of the World Summit for Social Development and the 24th session of the General Assembly.
At Svitac (Firefly in Bosnia), we marked this important day with interactive workshops! Our youngest participants learned about justice and injustice in a fun and relatable way, connecting it to moments like playing with friends or sharing with siblings. They also created headbands with their favourite English words and made a beautiful poster featuring a scale and the Earth.
Our older participants discussed economic, racial, and social justice, reflecting on how these issues affect their daily lives. Through these discussions, we aim to empower young people to speak out and take action against injustice in all its forms.
