“My volunteer service in Brčko has begun on the first September 2015. Before that I was one month in Sarajevo, the capital city of Bosnia and Herzegovina, at my on-arrival training in order to learn something about the culture and history of this country. In Brčko I assisted with Svitac daily activities when I was responsible for German language workshops for the advanced children and adults, sport- workshops for children and to assist local coordinator with sports activities for adults (Freeletics). As a long term volunteer I was supporting several annual events such as Halloween party, New Year’s party, spring festival and summer camps. In general the year in Svitac was a good experience how to work for an organisation and have responsibilities, duties or restrictions but at the same time have fun and opportunity to express myself. I also found many friends here (in and outside of Svitac). I was able to do my hobbies in Svitac like sport or magical tricks as well as martial arts in a local sport club. It was a very nice and good year of my life which gave me opportunity to think more about my future plans for my personal life as well as future work. I’m very grateful to my friends, coordinators and other volunteers in Svitac for this beautiful and educational time.”
