Universal Children’s Day 2025
To celebrate Universal Children’s Day, Svitac (Firefly in Bosnia) held a workshop where the children took part in a special activity focused on learning about their rights and the importance of being heard.
Through a presentation and songs they explored themes such as safety, education, equality, and the right to play. Together with our volunteers, the children also created a colourful poster filled with “butterfly wishes”—each butterfly carrying a message about a child’s right or a hope for a better future.
The collaborative artwork not only encouraged creativity but also helped the children express their thoughts and understand that their voices matter.
World Children’s Day, originally established in 1954 as Universal Children’s Day, is celebrated every year on 20 November.
The day aims to promote global unity, raise awareness about the needs and rights of children everywhere, and support efforts to improve their well-being.
