The International Mother Language Day 2021

The UN’s International Mother Language Day is on the 21st February. Celebrating this day Svitac (Firefly Bosnia) has reminded us that languages and multilingualism can help us build more inclusive societies. It is really important that children and young people get a proper education in their mother language at an early age.

This year, the UN is calling on leaders, educators, and families to become more committed to multilingual education and inclusion in general.

Svitac (Firefly Bosnia) believes multilingualism is something to celebrate, and that’s why we came together to say that languages bring us together, in as many different languages as we could!
We made a video explaining our favourite’s words in our native tongues or languages that we speak, and we created posters to express ideas in a multilingual way.
