The International Day of Non-Violence 2021

The International Day of Non-Violence is celebrated on October 2nd, on the day Mahatma Gandhi was born, one of the leaders of the Indian independence movement and the founder of the philosophy and strategy of nonviolent resistance.

Svitac (Firefly Bosnia) has celebrated this day with our 4+ participants at a creative workshop. We started the workshop with a discussion on what makes us superheroes in our local community and how can we be better citizens fighting against violence. We read a story about superheroes and have learnt six words in English: nonviolence, trustworthy, responsible, fair, respectful and caring. In the second part of the workshop, the participants have drawn themselves as superheroes!

The workshop was held on the premises of the Youth Centre Brčko District.
