The International Day of Democracy 2021
Svitac (Firefly Bosnia) has marked once again with participants the International Day of Democracy! The workshop was attended by 22 participants.
In the first part of the workshop, we asked them if they knew what the word democracy meant, and talked to them about this topic, using a method adapted to their age. We then discussed the concept of voting and played a voting game about what type of snacks we will use this day. Through a simple method, we learned how voting works and talked about equal rights for all. In the second creative part, we drew and coloured letters for the word democracy.
We believe that it is very important to learn and understand from an early age how good and important it is to live in a democratic society and to have the right to vote.
To this day (15th of September), International Democracy Day is being held under the UN Convention.
