Sejla Smajlovic EVS Exchange to the Netherlands

Through Svitac I’ve met lots of new people from all over the world. They really gave me a new point of view, they taught me a lot about their countries and their culture, and the most important thing for me – I’ve learned if I want something, I should reach for it, the sky’s the limit.

I did an EVS in Holland for one month with 6 young people from six different countries, and I met 5 long-term volunteers there. Holland was great, every moment I spent there was a highlight for me, I loved working with the children – it’s great when you know that you are showing a good example to someone. In Holland I’ve learned to not be afraid to share my ideas, to try something new, to take risks, to live in a community with people from around the world and still think as one without discrimination, to have fun together, to work together, to be so close to each other that we make friends for life – that’s what’s really important.
