International Women’s Day 2025

8th March is a powerful reminder to celebrate the incredible achievements of women worldwide and to continue pushing for gender equality. It is so important to talk to young people and girls about the progress we have made and the work still ahead.

Svitac (Firefly in Bosnia) has celebrated this day with a group of young people. They watched an educational video on this topic; after that, the group spoke about several women, (Marie Curie – pioneering physicist and chemist, Malala Yousafzai – Pakistani education activist, Rosa Luxemburg – Polish-German revolutionary socialist, Rosalind Franklin – British chemist and biophysicist), who played an important role in history, science and especially in the fight for woman’s rights. By empowering them with knowledge and confidence, we can inspire future generations of leaders, dreamers, and change-makers.

Let us create a world where every girl knows her worth and potential!
