International Volunteer Day 2021
For International Volunteer Day, Svitac (Firefly Bosnia) organised a discussion workshop with international volunteers and local young people to discuss volunteering abroad opportunities.
The volunteers gave short presentations about different volunteering programs, such as ESC and Weltwärts, as well as the different types of volunteering, including social, environmental, and healthcare. They discussed the benefits for personal development, the local community and future employability and shared their own motivations and experiences of living in BiH so far. Participants also talked about the countries they would like to visit and languages they would like to learn or practice.
The aim was to motivate young people to investigate the opportunities available to them and how they can use these to reach their goals for the future.
The workshop was held at the premises of the Youth centre Brčko District.
