International Day of Volunteers
On the International Day of Volunteers, celebrated on the 5th of December, Svitac (Firefly) organised an event for Brčko’s high school students at the Youth Centre.
During the event, the participants were asked what comes to their mind when they think about volunteering. After sharing their ideas, the participants got an opportunity to talk to Svitac’s (Firefly’s) international volunteers, as well as local volunteers who spent time volunteering abroad, and learn about the different volunteering programs that are available.
We ended the event with a discussion about volunteering, what it means, and how young people can benefit from the opportunity.
The event was attended by around 20 students from the local high schools and made possible with the help of our local and international volunteers.
