International Day of Tolerance 2024

Svitac (Firefly in Bosnia) celebrated the International Day of Tolerance with the primary school pupils.

The local and international volunteers have prepared an engaging interactive workshop that includes discussion, group work, and poster creation. Young people discussed tolerance for cultures and ethnicities, religion, diverse lifestyles, age, gender, and what it meant to them; there was also a video about acceptance, diversity, and tolerance. Following the talk, they worked in small groups to create symbols and keywords promoting tolerance, displayed on a large poster. Our purpose for this exercise was to encourage creative cultural variety, tolerance, and mutual respect.

Svitac (Firefly in Bosnia) emphasizes the value of peaceful coexistence and the acceptance and respect of others. The workshop was held at the premises of the Youth centre in Brčko District.
