International Day of Peace
On the occasion of the International Day of Peace, nominated by the UN General Assembly in 2007 as the Day for the Fight for World peace, which is celebrated on the 21th September, Omladinska Organizacija Svitac (Firefly) organized creative workshops attended by two groups of participants. The goal of the workshop was to promote the importance of equality and teamwork.
The younger participants (age 4-6) had a puppet theater and a discussion adapted to their age on the subject of peace. They also colored a worksheet with a sign of peace “White dove and Peace sign.
The second group had a discussion about what is peace and is it actually peace in the world, then they watched YouTube clips which were adapted to their age. In the end, they presented peace as a colourful tree and messages about what peace meant to them.
All activities were held on the premises of the Youth Centre in Brčko District.
