International Day of Friendship
To mark the occasion on July 30th of International Day of Friendship, Svitac (Firefly) organized special creative workshops for two groups of participants, with the aim to promote the importance of friendship, support and mutual understanding.
In the workshop for the first group of participants, children between the ages of four and seven created origami hearts which at the end of the activity were exchanged as gifts. Twenty-four participants attended this workshop.
The afternoon group made gift cards and had a discussion on the subject of the importance of friendship and mutual respect. The last half-hour the children played a game of trust called “Trust Fall”, where participants had to trust the person behind them to they will catch them as they let themselves fall backward. There were 16 participants aged 8+ in this workshop.
All activities were held on the premises of the Youth Centre in Brčko District.
