International Day against Fascism and Anti-Semitism 2022

Svitac (Firefly in Bosnia) marked with groups of students from high schools International Day against Fascism and Anti-Semitism.

The workshop’s goal was to introduce young people to the concept of fascism, its origins, characteristics, and current fascist tendencies. The informal presentation used vivid examples from our daily life while demonstrating how fascist structures can emerge slowly and unnoticed in society. We covered topic areas such as freedom, solidarity, equality, and respect, and how vital they are for a good and just society.

The goal was to demonstrate that anyone can fight fascism by supporting, defending, and living these values.

Ideas were gathered and shared about how we can prevent fascism, such as being aware of bullying in school, being tolerant, respecting other people’s freedoms, pleading with victims, and standing up to racism and peer pressure. In the end, participants realized how everyone could contribute to an equal society every day, preventing fascist structures from spreading.
