International Day against Fascism and Anti-Semitism 2021

International Day against Fascism and Anti-Semitism is celebrated every year on November 9th across Europe. Svitac (Firefly Bosnia) marked this date with a workshop for 15+.

Participants were introduced with presentations on three topics: fascism on social networks, fascism in football and the Antifa movement. After the presentations, they discussed those topics with each other. In the beginning, it was difficult for everyone to talk about the topic and to find easy ways how to fight against it, but after sharing personal experiences and ideas the group found ways how to recognize and fight fascism in our everyday lives.

The workshop was prepared and coordinated by the international volunteer from the Germany Rike Stollenwerk with help from other international volunteers from the UK and Germany. Svitac’s (Firefly Bosnia’s) team and the participants came to the result of how important it is to find a common thread/a connection between people to oppose the rise of fascism and antisemitism.
