Human Rights Day 2020

The Declaration of Human Rights was proclaimed by the United Nations General Assembly in Paris on 10th December 1948 by General Assembly resolution 217 A (III). The Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) is a milestone document in the history of human rights. All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights. They are endowed with reason and conscience and should act towards one another in a spirit of brotherhood.

Svitac (Firefly Bosnia) has celebrated this day with a video, which was made with the help of international volunteers from the UK and Turkey. The video emphasizes the rights to education, freedom of the media and the right to privacy.

At the workshop with participants aged 4+, we watched an animated video on this topic, adapted to age, and we asked them what their favourite right is. After the conversation, they made a colourful message, which says: Happy Human Rights Day!
On the online workshop for 13+ participants, we watched an animated video on the history of human rights and discussed with a question which human rights are truly respected around the world!
