GLOBAL DAY OF PARENTS 2024
Since the 1980s, the international community has been increasingly aware of the importance of the family. The General Assembly passed several resolutions, declaring the International Year of the Family and the International Day of Families. Children should grow up in a family context and an atmosphere of support, happiness, love, and understanding for the full and harmonious development of their individuality.
Omladinska organizacija Svitac (Firefly in Bosnia) had an amazing time with the youngest participants talking about the importance of having a safe space with parents and family. Our team of local and international volunteers has prepared an educational – creative workshop with the activity of drawing, colouring, and creating a little house with a little door, but also a big size house! When the door is open, there is a happy family inside.
The workshop was held on the premises of the Youth Centre of Brčko District.
