Global Day of Parents
On 1st June we celebrated the Global Day of Parents. This date was established by the United Nations General Assembly in 2012. In its resolution for the International Day of Parents, it is stated that the family has primary responsibility for the care and protection of children, and that children need to be raised in a family environment with the atmosphere of happiness, love and understanding.
Svitac (Firefly Bosnia) held a workshop for children ages 4 to 7 in which we talked about family members and good relationships within the family. The daily coordinator worked together with a group of members of Local team AsuBiH to make a sketch, adapted to the age of the participants that identified examples of good and bad behaviour. At the end of the workshop we made greeting cards for parents with love messages.
The workshop was held at the Youth Center in Brčko District.
