European Day of Languages 2022

European Day of Languages is an initiative to promote language learning, launched by the Council of Europe in 2001 in cooperation with the European Commission. Since then, this day has been celebrated throughout Europe every year on September 26.

Svitac (Firefly in Bosnia) symbolically celebrated this day with the participants!
Our international and local volunteers have prepared a very interesting workshop – we listened to the song “Brother Jakob/Frere Jacques”, which is sung in different languages (French, German, and English). After the song, our participants learned to say hello in foreign languages: French, English, Spanish, Italian and German. This workshop was a lot of fun for our youngest – they liked the song and are now able to greet in different languages.

The workshop was held on the premises of the Youth Centre Brcko District.
