Celebrating International Day of Democracy with Young Minds
On the occasion of the International Day of Democracy, we were thrilled to host engaging workshops with young people, focusing on the core principles and importance of democracy in society.
During the sessions, they explored the basic foundations of democracy, its key rules, and why it plays such a vital role in building fair and inclusive communities. Through interactive discussions and group activities, they deepened their understanding of democratic values like participation, equality, and freedom of expression.
The participants not only attended the workshop but also actively took part in a mock election. After learning about the election process, they organized campaigns, presented their ideas, and voted to elect a class president. This hands-on activity helped them experience the democratic process in action – from campaigning to casting ballots.
The feedback was overwhelmingly positive – young people were engaged, curious, and eager to participate. Most importantly, they had fun while learning and left with a clearer idea of what democracy means and how they can contribute to it in their everyday lives. Democracy starts with education – and these young citizens are already off to a great start!
