The Universal Children’s Day 2024
The Universal Children’s Day is celebrated annually on November 20th. Its goal is to improve child welfare worldwide, promote and celebrate children’s rights, and promote togetherness and awareness amongst all children. Unfortunately in too many places today, children’s rights are under attack.
Svitac (Firefly in Bosnia) celebrated World Children’s Day with an interactive creative workshop. The participants talked about their rights such as the right to have a safe place to live, education, family life, health, play, etc. In the creative part, the participants crafted air balloons and themselves inside to symbolize being free to move and travel around the world. Their drawings were displayed on a big poster together with the message: “We want to live in a world without fear of wars, climate change, and violence! Please take care of us and our future!”
The workshop was held at the premises of the Youth center in Brčko District.
